Our Trip to rajasthan

We travelled to Rajasthan a few years back, but the experience is still vivid in my mind. This was our first outing with our kid, a 2yrs old bundle of energy. We had had to do some minute planning keeping her in mind. We tried to travel mostly by night trains as in Rajasthan the cities of Tourist interest are connected by overnight trains. You can check the indian railway site for the detailed planning to suit personal needs.
The itinerary was roughly like this:

Places to see:

In Jodhpur :

Mehrangarh Fort: The Rathore ruler Rao Jodha decided to build a new capital as the fort in Mandore, already over a thousand years old, was no longer considered strong and safe. In doing so he bequeathed to India one of her greatest forts and most beautiful cities. Mehrangarh has never been taken in a siege. Invincible and mighty as it is , it inspires awe, admiration, envy and fear in friend and foe alike. Some hotels provide very nice views from the rooftop restaurants eg Govind Hotel, which gets a mention even in lonely planet for its fantastic rooftop views and helpful owner.

The Umaid Bhavan Palace Hotel:
