The Chamonix trip From Geneva

Getting to Chamonix from Geneva:
  • The easiest way of getting to Chamonix from Geneva by train. Regular trains run from Martigny to St Gervais-les-Bains , France via Chamonix. Some of the trains terminate on the French-Swiss border at Châtelard-Frontière, but it's an easy walk across the platform for the continuing train). From Paris, you can take a TGV to Annecy, then a regional train to St Gervais. Martigny is a main station on the Brig-Geneva line. The line is enlisted as the scenic routes on which the Mt Blanc Express runs , the most beautiful part is from the Martigny. In fact, it's even more scenic than some of the headline Swiss "scenic trains." In addition to the Chamonix-Mont Blanc main station, all trains stop at Les Bossons and Les Praz, as well as many smaller stations on request. Trains in both directions run roughly every hour.
  • You can plan your trip by catching the bus from the airport. Look under the Geneva airport website, Transportation -> Public Transportation -> To/From Ski Stations you will find the schedule at http://www.gva.ch/en/default.htm.
